Responsibilities

This position is accountable for providing transportation service for patients, materials, and supplies on the Mercy General Hospital campus. This includes: to/from patient units to the operating rooms and procedural areas, to/from patient units to imaging service departments, to/ from patient units to rehab services departments, to/from the emergency department to patient units, transfer to/from one clinical unit to another, discharge to home, transport of equipment needed for transport, transport of specimens to/from the laboratory, transport of medication to/from the pharmacy, transportation of equipment to/from CSPD, transport of deceased patients to the morgue.


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Current BLS from the AHA.
  • Knowledge of: Workflow organization and optimization.
  • Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, hospital IT systems, database development, process improvement.
  • Organization and operation of acute care hospital & related facilities.

Preferred:

  • HS diploma//GED
  • Knowledge of - Regulatory requirements related to confidentiality - Medical
  • terminology, Infection control, Body Mechanics.
  • Operation of oxygen tanks
  • County, State, Federal, and Joint
  • Commission standards and practices
