Workers Compensation Coordinator
The posted compensation range of $26.51 - $38.44 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
This position will be based at Woodland Hospital with occasional travel to Methodist.
Job Summary:
The Workers' Compensation Coordinator is responsible for directing, implementing and managing all aspects of the workers' compensation program for one or more facilities within a given Market. The position will provide advocacy and support for injured employees and influence safety investigation and loss prevention follow up with key stakeholders. This role will be responsible for understanding and communicating key policies and key metrics across all levels of the Market and Region.
Job Duties:
Manage the Return-to-Work Program to include: Coordinate participation in transitional duty and communicate/enforce the Transitional Duty policy, review medical reports for restrictions, encourage permanent placement in alternate positions and monitor for ADA and other regulatory compliance by referring to human resources timely.
Communicate claim and incident trending information to key stakeholders to facilitate and influence loss prevention and mitigation opportunities and programs.
Develop and provide internal communication and education to all levels within the Market and/or Region regarding workers’ compensation program details and processes.
Advocate and support injured employees.
Coordinate claim investigation and the completion of root cause analysis (RCAs) with supervisors, injured employees, witnesses and others to ensure appropriate loss prevention mitigation or safety corrections occur.
Participate in claim reviews and settlement discussions to strategize and identify best practices and timely claim resolution.
Maintain OSHA logs, including proper posting and reporting per OSHA regulations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in workers’ compensation, employee safety or human resources required without degree or
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in workers’ compensation, employee safety or human resources required with degree
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training
General office skills, computer experience including but not limited to Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, web-based applications, e-mail, Internet, fax machine, copy machine and various audio visual equipment
Ability to prepare and present presentations
Strong analytical capabilities
Ability to work independently, while exhibiting excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills
