The posted compensation range of $24.00 - $26.69 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), you will be a cornerstone of patient care, directly contributing to comfort, safety, and recovery by providing essential support under RN direction.

Every day, you will deliver compassionate basic care, assist with patient transport, and actively contribute to the patient's plan of care as a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, upholding the highest standards of conduct and patient well-being.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a dedicated spirit of service, strong communication skills, a meticulous approach to patient support, and an unwavering commitment to our mission of dignified, high-quality healthcare.

  • Patient Satisfaction: Is a role model for the Hospital's Patient Satisfaction effort, i.e. demonstrates AIDET principles when interacting with customers, subordinates and colleagues.
  • Takes vital signs and daily weights, Reports If: BP, < 90 or > 140, or any change in BP; Urine output < 30 cc/hour; Inability to void/complaints of discomfort; Change in mental status; Diaphoresis; Change in cardiac rhythm; Complaints of tenderness in calves; Accepts direction from Team leading RN or Associate Director regarding professional tasks within the realm of Nursing and within hospital policies and procedures
  • Records on the patient chart/flow sheet information obtained, such as vital signs and intake and output amount. ASSISTS PATIENTS WITH AND/OR PERFORMS FOR PATIENTS THE ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING AND PRESCRIBED ACTIVITIES UTILIZING KNOWLEDGE OF GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT THROUGHOUT THE LIFE SPAN. Performs or assists with elements of personal hygiene: Bathing (including special skin care and linen changes); Oral hygiene; Catheter care; Shampoo hair (when allowed by physician); P.M. / H.S. care; Turns and positions patient at least every two hours.
  • Accepts direction from Team leading RN or Associate Director regarding professional tasks within the realm of Nursing and within hospital policies and procedures.
  • Performs other physical care as assigned (i.e., sitz bath, applying binders, anti-embolism stockings, braces, collars, encourages use of DBC and/or inspirator sphygmomanometer, and prepares patient for surgery or special procedures).
  • Assists patients in meeting nutritional needs: serves diet trays, feeds or assists patients with eating as needed, serves and assists patients with nourishments, prepares naso-gastric tube feedings for R.N. to infuse
