Join the compassionate team at St. Bernardine Medical Center as a Staff Occupational Therapist, where you’ll play a critical role in helping patients achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life. Working under the guidelines of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, you will deliver exceptional care through evaluation, program planning, goal setting, treatment development, and education for patients and their families.
This position serves both inpatient and outpatient populations across a variety of specialties, including Neurology, Orthopedics, Oncology, Cardiology, Medical-Surgical, and Skilled Nursing. You’ll also contribute to the supervision of affiliate and support personnel while aligning your work with the mission, core values, and strategic goals of St. Bernardine Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive evaluations, develop treatment plans, and reassess patient progress.
- Establish patient-specific goals and create effective therapy programs.
- Educate patients and their families to support care plans and recovery.
- Collaborate on discharge planning and ensure smooth transitions of care.
- Supervise and mentor affiliate and support personnel.
- Assist the Director in meeting the Business Mission and Quality Objectives of Rehabilitation Services and St. Bernardine Medical Center.
- Support quality improvement and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
- Current registration, certification, or license as an Occupational Therapist issued by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc., or proof of eligibility to sit for the National Certification Exam
- Currently licensed by the California Board of Occupational Therapy or eligible for California Licensure.
- The candidate must have proof of eligibility
- Current BLS certification
- A licensed applicant must have proof of current applicant status.
