Community Hospital of San Bernardino is seeking a dedicated Sonographer to join our dynamic Medical Imaging team. Under the supervision of the Director of Medical Imaging, this role is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images that support timely and accurate patient care.
This position requires critical thinking, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort, especially when working with vulnerable populations such as infants and geriatric patients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound clinical judgment, technical skill, and a proactive approach to equipment care and infection control.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams using appropriate techniques, transducers, and equipment settings
- Ensure image quality and accurate documentation of clinical findings in accordance with departmental standards
- Adjust imaging protocols based on patient age, body habitus, and clinical condition
- Maintain a safe and sterile environment by adhering to infection control protocols
- Handle and report equipment malfunctions and ensure imaging tools are clean, calibrated, and fully functional
- Collaborate with radiologists and care teams to clarify exam orders and adapt procedures as necessary

Qualifications
- Two (2) years experience in an acute care hospital, performing a variety of ultrasound examinations is preferred.
- Graduation from an approved school of Ultrasonography and passing of the RDMS is required.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) Certification
- AHA-Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
