Workers’ Compensation Specialist – St. Bernardine Medical Center

We are seeking a dedicated Workers’ Compensation Specialist to coordinate and oversee our Workers’ Compensation and Return to Work (RTW) programs. This vital role ensures injured employees receive the care, support, and resources they need to return to work safely and as quickly as possible, while also promoting a healthy and safe work environment.
In this position, you will serve as the central liaison between employees, management, healthcare providers, and our third-party administrator. You will guide the claims process from start to finish—investigating work-related injuries, managing documentation, monitoring claims, and coordinating transitional duty plans. Your efforts will directly contribute to injury prevention, compliance with OSHA and regulatory standards, and the overall well-being of our workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the Workers’ Compensation and RTW programs for St. Bernardine Medical Center.
- Serve as liaison between injured employees, management, healthcare providers, and the Workers’ Compensation administrator.
- Initiate and oversee timely investigations for all work-related injury claims, including Root Cause Analysis.
- Monitor claim progress, ensuring efficient communication among all parties to expedite resolution.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, safety regulations, and hospital policies.
- Provide training and in-service education on injury prevention and workplace safety.
- Participate in safety rounds, committees, and initiatives to promote a safe and supportive work environment.

Qualifications
- Two (2) years of recent experience as a Worker's Compensation Case Manager in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of treatment modalities for workers comp related injuries
- Knowledge of California Workers Comp regulations/ OSHA regulations
- Ability to work effectively with other clinical professionals and the Medical Staff.
