The posted compensation range of $96.15 /hour - $100.96 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Nocturnist ICU Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (APP)
Dignity Health Medical Group – Dominican is seeking a motivated Nocturnist ICU NP/PA (APP) to join our patient-centered organization in Santa Cruz, CA!
As our Nocturnist ICU NP/PA, you will join Dignity Health Medical Group – Dominican, a physician-led, patient-centered organization in Santa Cruz, CA. This is a unique opportunity for a driven advanced practice provider to deliver high-quality, overnight critical care within our modern intensive care facilities at Dominican Hospital. You will provide expert overnight critical care with significant autonomy, collaboration, and flexibility. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex, high-acuity patients, perform essential ICU procedures, and stabilize admissions throughout the night. You will collaborate closely with on-call intensivists, ED providers, and the multidisciplinary overnight care team to ensure seamless patient care. Resources like skilled critical care nurses, respiratory therapists, and comprehensive diagnostic imaging ensure a highly supportive and integrated overnight team environment.
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced and motivated Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant passionate about fostering a positive culture and delivering high-quality care to our coastal community. You will thrive within a mission-driven organization committed to patient health.
We are offering a competitive compensation package, including a base salary of $200,000 to $210,000 annually. This competitive rate is inclusive of 167 12-hour shifts per year, with excellent opportunities for additional shift coverage compensation. You will also receive a generous Sign-On Bonus, Relocation Assistance, and a CME Allowance. Your comprehensive benefits package includes 100% Employer Paid Medical & Dental Benefits, a robust Retirement Program, and generous Time Away. This position is PSLF Eligible, offering significant student loan forgiveness opportunities.

Job Requirements

● Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

● Minimum of 3 years of advanced practice experience in the ICU, Emergency Department, or Inpatient Pulmonary
● Active or eligible NP or PA license in the state of California
● National Board Certification (e.g., AGACNP-BC, PA-C)
● Proven proficiency in critical care procedures and advanced life support
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
● Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented overnight environment
