The posted compensation range of $77.10 - $105.20 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a vital part of our healthcare team, our Pharmacists blend clinical expertise with compassionate care to ensure optimal medication management. You will demonstrate sound judgment based upon knowledge and application of professional, departmental, and organizational principles and standards, bringing humankindness to every interaction.

As our Pharmacist, you will provide a quality level of comprehensive clinical pharmaceutical services and accurately dispense medications so patients receive safe and effective drug therapy, and medical staff have expert guidance on therapeutic regimens. Your work is crucial for achieving appropriate patient outcomes and maintaining the highest standards of care.

Every day, you will interpret medication orders for appropriateness, accurately enter/verify prescriptions, and dispense medications in a timely manner. You will be expected to document clinical activities and interventions, verify medications prepared by other pharmacy personnel, and serve as a resource by communicating crucial drug information to patients and health professionals, resolving drug-related problems effectively.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Documentation & Intervention: Document clinical activities and interventions such as consults, patient teachings, and other patient-specific information as defined by policy and procedure.
  • Medication Order Interpretation & Dispensing: Interpret medication orders and/or prescriptions for drug interactions, appropriate drug selection, and appropriateness. Accurately enters/verifies the order or prescription into the computer system, labels, and dispenses medications in a timely manner.
  • Medication Verification: Verifies and checks medications prepared by other pharmacy personnel.
  • Drug Information & Problem Solving: Communicates drug information to patients and health professionals. Resolves drug-related problems by consulting with other healthcare professionals to achieve appropriate patient outcomes. Unclear orders written by a licensed provider are clarified with the licensed provider. Assists the licensed provider in appropriate drug selection and therapeutic regimens.
  • Clinical Competence: Achieves and maintains an adequate basic knowledge base to provide clinical services for all age groups served. Provides basic clinical services as required by policy and procedure.
  • Automated Systems Knowledge: Maintains a working knowledge of automated systems.
  • Team Leadership & Guidance: Responsible for technician activities, performance, provides direction and guidance as needed.
  • Training & Development: Participates in the orientation, instruction, and training of pharmacy students and interns, pharmacy technicians, residents, pharmacists, and other health professionals. May serve as the Residency Program Director or Coordinator if applicable to their location.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Performs duties in documented accordance with requirements of all regulatory and governing bodies. Completes mandatory education from a system and department level as appropriate.
  • Patient Counseling: Provides patient counseling and drug information and documentation as appropriate.
  • Other Duties: Completes other duties as they are assigned within the scope of their licensure as requested

To be successful in this role, you must possess a current Pharmacist license, a strong clinical foundation in medication therapy management across all age groups, and exceptional communication and critical thinking skills for effective problem-solving and collaboration with healthcare professionals.


Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree

Required Licensure and Certifications

  • BLS-CPR
  • Active State Pharmacist License in good standing in the state in which the employee works: PHARM:WA

Preferred Licensure and Certifications

  • ACLS

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

  • Must possess strong knowledge of Pharmacy Services; knowledgeable and skilled in current practice concepts of pharmacy practice settings; strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards; strong project management skills; good strategic planning skills; strong change management skills; must demonstrate personal traits of a high level of motivation; team orientation; professionalism; trust; and place a high value on treating others with dignity and respect.
