The posted compensation range of $56.88 - $56.88 per / hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
As our Journeyman Electrician, you'll be a vital part of our team, performing a wide range of tasks including:
- System Installation & Maintenance:Install, add to, alter, repair, and maintain a variety of electrical wiring systems and fixtures, including conduit, outlets, switch panels, incandescent and fluorescent lighting, power plant controls, generators, and elevators, all while adhering to National and State Electrical Codes and National Electrical Safety Code.
- Troubleshooting & Repair:Diagnose and resolve complex electrical power disruptions using voltage and amp meters. This includes testing circuits, repairing or replacing power plant control devices, and performing emergency repairs according to specifications.
- Preventative Maintenance:Implement and conduct preventative maintenance programs on existing equipment, including variable-speed drives, motors, motor control centers, and programmable controllers.
- System Upgrades & Modernization:Install, modify, and upgrade new and existing electrical systems, components, and related equipment.
- Specialized System Expertise:Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a diverse array of electronic systems, including digital communications, fire alarm and smoke control systems, CCTV, electronic door/elevator security controls, intercoms, paging systems, pneumatic tube carriers, and various motor control equipment.
- Power Distribution Management:Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair power distribution systems, including lighting distribution, low-voltage switching, power distribution panels, emergency generators, HVAC equipment, and power transfer switches.
- Planning & Estimation:Review blueprints and specifications, estimate costs for labor and materials, and recommend changes for electrical projects.
- Safety & Compliance:Ensure all work meets the highest safety standards and complies with all relevant electrical codes and regulations.
- Tool & Equipment Management:Maintain hand and power tools to ensure their safe and efficient use, including inspection, repair, and ensuring an adequate supply of necessary electrical materials.
Job Requirements
- Proven Experience:Demonstrated experience as a Journeyman Electrician, preferably in a hospital or critical infrastructure environment.
- Technical Proficiency:Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, apparatus, and equipment for communication, lighting, heating, and power.
- Code Compliance:In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code, State Electrical Codes, and National Electrical Safety Code.
- Diagnostic Skills:Proficient in using voltage and amp meters, IFRA Red Cameras (infrared cameras), and other relevant testing equipment.
- Blueprint & Specification Analysis:Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
- Troubleshooting Acumen:Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair complex electrical issues efficiently.
- Safety-Minded:A strong commitment to safety standards and procedures.
- Physical Demands:Ability to perform physically demanding tasks associated with electrical work.
- Tool Maintenance:Proficiency in maintaining and repairing electrical hand and power tools.
- Communication:Effective communication skills to collaborate with supervisors and other team members.
Licensure/Certification
• Possession of an active Washington State Journeyman Electrician license (Commercial 01) or equivalent per RCW 19.28.191.
