The posted compensation range of $42.88 - $56.86/ hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

As our Medical Technologist, you will accurately analyze and report on a variety of tests using advanced laboratory techniques so medical staff can make timely and precise diagnoses, leading to effective treatment and improved patient outcomes. Your work is foundational to the quality care we provide and directly supports our mission to improve the health of those we serve.
Every day, you will perform and report waived, moderately complex, and highly complex test procedures on patient specimens, strictly adhering to our Section's Standard Operating Procedures. You will be expected to maintain major automated equipment through calibration and troubleshooting, proactively identify patterns of bias and notify caregivers of critical values, and contribute to continuous improvement by participating in proficiency testing and evaluating new procedures.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities:
Conduct and report precise patient specimen testing across all complexity levels, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments, performing necessary calibration and quality control.
Ensure patient-centered care through clinical correlation, timely critical value reporting, and efficient turnaround times.
Strictly adhere to all regulatory and quality standards, including proficiency testing and new technology validation.
Manage laboratory resources and ensure seamless workflow within and across shifts.
Communicate with professionalism and humankindness as a representative of the organization with all stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you must possess advanced analytical and technical laboratory skills, a meticulous attention to detail, a strong dedication to quality assurance and regulatory compliance, and a profound commitment to patient-centered excellence.
Job Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in medical technology from a program or institution accredited by a recognized regional or national accreditation agency required.
- Alternative Baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a recognized regional or national accreditation agency, or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution as certified by a foreign transcript evaluation agency approved by AMT, and shall have completed at least 35 semester hours of coursework across various subjects related to the clinical laboratory sciences, such as biological science, microbiology, organic chemistry, biochemistry, mathematics, etc.
- Completed an accredited medical technology training program following the earning of the baccalaureate degree referenced above, or Completed a minimum of one year of approved clinical laboratory experience.
