The posted compensation range of $100.98 - $181.76 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Regional Vice President of Philanthropy, Northwest Region, you will be the chief architect and lead fundraiser for a dynamic and mission-driven organization. This executive leadership role is critical for driving sustainable growth and significantly impacting our philanthropic efforts across the entire Northwest Region. You will strategically oversee all fundraising performance, cultivate a robust donor pipeline, and champion a culture of philanthropy to maximize our reach and impact, ensuring long-term financial health and community engagement.

Every day you will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive, region-wide fundraising plan that encompasses multiple foundations and anticipates future expansion. You'll provide direct supervisory leadership and crucial mentorship to foundation staff, fostering their professional growth and optimizing their fundraising strategies. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to managing a personal portfolio of principal donors, building meaningful relationships, and securing transformative gifts. You'll also foster close collaboration with the national philanthropy team, implementing best practices and leveraging centralized resources for peak efficiency.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a proven track record of executive-level fundraising achievement, ideally within a multi-site or regional healthcare system. Your background will demonstrate exceptional skills in strategic planning, team leadership, and major gift cultivation. You are a results-oriented leader with a deep understanding of philanthropic trends, solid experience with donor relations management, and the ability to inspire a broad range of stakeholders, from board members to frontline staff. Your commitment to our mission, coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills, will be paramount in achieving our ambitious goals and building lasting partnerships.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead regional fundraising strategy, developing and implementing comprehensive plans in alignment with system and local priorities.
  • Manage, mentor, and build a unified team of Foundation leaders across the region, ensuring individual and collective success.
  • Act as a key member of the regional executive leadership team, fostering a culture of philanthropy.
  • Represent the region on the national Philanthropy Leadership Council, driving performance and integrating local input.
  • Build and develop a diverse, inclusive, and professional regional philanthropy team, leveraging shared resources for efficiency.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Masters degree in business or related field, or combination of education and/or additional job-related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of total experience in philanthropy and/or non-profit leadership.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of total experience in a senior management role; experience in successfully dealing with major gift fundraising; experience facilitating progressive organizational change within a growing organization.

Preferred:

  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE)
