The posted compensation range of $60.24 - $89.60 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Director Centralized Clinical Operations, you will help the Northwest Region as a nursing leader so they can represent on key strategic projects that are being driven by CommonSpirit Health.  Projects such as the multiyear UKG Pro Workforce project that will result in a standardized scheduling/staffing process across the CSH Ministry, the Project ImpACT Transfer Center Ministry work group that is aligning workflow processes and standards across all 10 Transfer Centers across the CSH ministry as well as oversight of transitions of selected services to the centralized CareBase Service line.

Every day you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and oversight of both nursing practice and non licensed team members within the newly formed Centralized Clinical Operations Center. You will be expected to ensure evidence-based nursing standards of clinical practice are in place in a regulatory compliant environment with a focus on ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality and customer and patient satisfaction.

This position analyzes current and new service delivery models and technologies to evolve and expand existing services,  directs the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance current workflow processes and seeks opportunities for regional and system level synergies.

In addition to CommonSpirit Health national leaders, this position interfaces with site-based clinical leadership, executive management, steering committees and multiple cross-functional or cross-organizational teams which necessitates the incumbent is skilled in  diplomacy, sensitivity, conflict resolution and consensus building skills.

To be successful in this role, you must

• Provide clinical leadership for the Centralized Clinical Operations Center teams to ensure nursing operations and patient care are conducted in accordance with professional standards and applicable regulatory requirements and are well adopted and integrated with care delivered across the Northwest

• Champion established clinical and operational objectives and ensures

• communication between site-based and regional care teams.

• Serve as a liaison with Chief Nursing Officers and nursing leadership across all clinical sites

• Monitor and evaluates ongoing effectiveness of systems and practices and establishes objectives and leads performance improvement initiatives across work teams.

• Standardize clinical workflow and practices across work teams and promotes/facilitates services that support and enhance Virginia Mason Franciscan Health care processes

• Lead region-wide task forces and committees focused on development and implementation of evidence-based nursing standards of practice, nursing excellence and innovative transformational care redesign across the healthcare continuum, ensuring that practice models increase the value equation for clinical care and meet regulatory requirements related to nursing practice.

• Support system-wide operational improvement efforts with focus on analysis and evaluation of current clinical operations including supporting the implementation of system wide action plans, tracking mechanisms and follow up efforts; ensures the integration of findings of current evidence-based practice and research into the policies/standards/practices governing the provision of nursing care.

• Work consultatively with nursing leadership across all sites to identify and address specific improvement opportunities

Staff Management and Development:

• Provides leadership and development of the Manager, Centralized Clinical Operations Center. Plans, directs and evaluates the work of clinical management staff in accordance with the content, spirit and intent of applicable internal/external regulations and standards for human resource management; ensures adequate staffing levels for appropriate coverage to meet budgetary and operational objectives; ensures that employees are qualified and properly trained to perform assigned job duties; holds regular staff meetings and keeps employees appraised of all matters relevant to successful job performance; makes employment decisions, establishes performance standards and evaluates employee performance; educates, guides, counsels and develops staff and addresses performance management concerns and technical issues elevated by subordinates as beyond their scope of authority.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensures full compliance with internal/external legal and regulatory standards and requirements, and that effective control procedures are in place and fully functioning to preclude improprieties from occurring; monitors the effectiveness of current practices in meeting expectations and producing desired results.

• Keeps abreast of changing regulatory requirements/regulation, clinical/professional standards, changing customer demographics and competitive industry practices impacting assigned functions, as well as organizational initiatives/changes with potential to impact current strategies, programs and resources; determines nature/scope of impact on existing activities and determines effective response/solution while maintaining acceptable service levels and work quality.

Resource Management/Budget Administration

• Demonstrates financial acumen and fiscal responsibility in managing all cost centers associated with the Centralized Clinical Operations Center.

• Demonstrates effective cost controls to stay within budget and exceed productivity targets.


Job Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors Other in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing, Management Engineering or related discipline and graduation from an accredited school of nursing upon hire and
  • Seven years in the discipline that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities required and
  • Five years leadership experience required and
  • Work experience with structured process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, Workout, Aim-Measure-Change)

License/Certifications:

Registered Nurse: WA (RN:WA) upon hire required
