The posted compensation range of $35.25 - $52.83 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Your Role in Our Mission:

As a Per Diem Radiologic Technologist, you'll be instrumental in assisting physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. You'll perform a wide range of radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures in various locations, including (but not limited to) clinics, the emergency room, special procedures rooms, surgery, and patient rooms. Your expertise in operating radiographic equipment to produce recorded images of the body will be crucial to our patients' well-being.

Your work will be focused on delivering optimal diagnostic quality of patient care, utilizing efficient and safe processes that align with department protocols and all applicable regulatory requirements. You'll be responsible for the safe, efficient, and proper operation of radiological equipment, all while adhering to direct safety regulations, license departmental standards, and protocols.

What You'll Do (Essential Functions):

  • Expert Imaging: Prepare and operate radiology equipment for the correct size, depth, and detail of requested exposure areas, always based on physicians’ orders and adhering to department protocols.
  • Patient Education & Comfort: Clearly explain procedures to patients, respond to their questions, and utilize equipment/accessories and techniques to comfort and protect patients, yourself, and others from unnecessary radiation.
  • Quality & Consistency: Employ techniques and procedures to ensure consistent and high-quality results in all imaging.
  • Safety & Cleanliness: Thoroughly clean equipment after each use, maintaining a sterile and safe environment.
  • Comprehensive Patient Care: Deliver compassionate patient care for all age groups while performing radiological exams, procedures, and/or special procedures.
  • Patient Advocate: Act as a liaison between the patient and the radiologist, providing comfort and protection.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations consistent with your scope of authority.
  • Accurate Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records by documenting pertinent information in the patient chart.
  • Collaborative Communication: Advise nursing staff of any significant change in a patient’s condition while in Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Operational Support: Perform incidental general office duties including answering phones, scheduling, filing, maintaining patient records, and ordering supplies.
  • Resource Management: Participate in the ordering and inventorying of equipment and supplies.
  • Mentorship & Growth: Participate in the training of Radiological Technology students, offering instruction to broaden their knowledge of the profession.
