Behavioral Health Therapist

As our Behavioral Health Therapist, you will contribute to the delivery of quality healthcare by providing comprehensive patient care, including intake assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and discharge planning within our Behavioral Health Program.

Every day you will perform individual, family, couples, or group counseling using clinically sound and evidence-based practices, conducting concurrent reviews, and ensuring all services align with state laws, regulatory agencies, and established policies and standards of care.

To be successful in this role, you will possess expertise in behavioral health treatment modalities, strong assessment and diagnostic skills, a commitment to evidence-based practice, and the ability to provide high-quality, compassionate therapy while adhering to all legal and ethical guidelines.

• Demonstrates critical thinking in delivery of assessment, crisis intervention, treatment planning, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of quality care to meet patient needs.
• Facilitates individual, group and family therapy as well as psycho-educational groups to promote patient emotional, spiritual and psychological health.
• Works with interdisciplinary team to formulate and implement care of patients using insight, limit setting, support, goal setting and other techniques as appropriate.
• Participates in on-call rotation, conducting crisis assessments and developing safety plans with clients experiencing a behavioral health crisis.
• Appropriately assess suicide risk.
• Provides clients with appropriate resources and referrals when clinically indicated.

Required

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field
  
• Two (2) years of direct behavioral clinical experience providing individual, group or family therapy in an inpatient or outpatient setting
• Competence with DSM diagnostic criteria and treatment planning
  
• Demonstrates clinical and ethical professionalism, conflict resolution and critical thinking skills
• Current license in the state of employment in on  (1) of the following disciplines: Clinical Psychologist (PSY), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CHMC) (Utah only), Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (RN CNS) or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (RN NP, Psych Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), and/or Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC).
• Allowable: Current license in the state of employment in one (1) of the following disciplines: Certified Social Worker (CSW), Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ACHMC), Associate level Mental Health Therapy License, and Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, if proper supervision is required and can be met by hospital staff (Utah only)

• For St. Anthony North Hospital and St. Anthony Hospital only: Current Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
