The posted compensation range of $39.52 - $61.38 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

At St. Anthony North Hospital, one of our proud Magnet® designated hospitals, the department 4 West is a 30-bed Cardiac/Medical unit. We care for patients experiencing chest pain, STEMI, NSTEMI, congestive heart failure, and cardiac arrhythmias, as well as a wide range of other medical conditions. The unit is equipped to manage non-titratable cardiac drips and frequently receives patients from the Cath lab following procedures such as cardiac or peripheral stent placement, pacemaker insertion, and cardioversion. Teamwork and collaboration are at the heart of our culture. As an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) you will be responsible for developing, achieving and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or department’s daily operations.Essential functions to the success of this role include:

  • Consistently promote a positive & healthy work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers.
  • Collaboratively work with nurse leaders in maintaining productivity, supporting initiatives, and ensuring units/departments are appropriately staffed.
  • Assist in identifying staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.
  • Daily productivity and expense management and support unit/department manager with budget preparation.
  • Focus on patient safety, patient experience, and performance improvement in alignment with unit/department goals.
  • Encourage employee participation in decision through shared governance and support change management.
  • Support professional development to improve employee retention.

Job Requirements

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified Assistant Nurse Manager candidates will need the following:

  • 2 years clinical RN experience
  • 6 months - 1 year clinical leadership experience, preferred
  • A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN)
  • Current RN License to practice in state of employment 
  • Life Support Certifications per Department Standards; e.g. NRP, EFM, TNCC, etc. 
  • Nursing Specialty Certification:
    • Required to sit for certification within 6 months of hire/transfer
    • Must achieve certification within 2 years of hire/transfer into this role

Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
