The posted compensation range of $25.55 - $42.15 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. As our Pharmacy Automation Coordinator, you will serve as the pharmacy's team leader for the automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) system, ensuring efficient and compliant medication distribution.
Every day, you will manage controlled substance inventory, monitor usage, and investigate/resolve all discrepancies within the ADC. You will act as the primary liaison between the ADC vendor and Nursing for problem-solving, and be accountable for all legal records associated with controlled substances.
To be successful, you will possess strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail for controlled substances, and excellent communication skills for liaising with vendors and staff. Your ability to troubleshoot, train, and ensure compliance will be vital in optimizing our automated medication system.
- Monitors activities of all the controlled substances; documents, follows up and alerts Manager/Director on all discrepancies.
- Manages and troubleshoots all ADC stations to include security and communication of system changes and upgrades.
- Coordinates and maintains an accurate inventory of all controlled substances.
- Serves as liaison between Nursing and Pharmacy for problem solving; communicates with Manager/Director regularly concerning issues/problems.
- Produces ADC compare reports; reviews and follows up on all defined reports associated with ADC and the CII safe; maintains storage records.
- Processes and ensures compliant sales to all internal and external departments, including retail, home health/hospice, offsite locations, medical clinics if applicable and other areas.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Two (2) years of recent pharmacy experience in a hospital setting or equivalent
- Registered Pharmacy Tech in the state in which the employee works, PHARMTECH:XX
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and abbreviations
- Knowledgeable of an automated hospital pharmacy procurement system for the purchase of medications, pharmaceutical supplies, and IV solutions and supplies
- Ability to create different strategies to address medication shortages
- Knowledgeable of the ADC hospital based automated medication distribution system
Preferred
- Active CPTEXCPT or CPTPTCB or CPHT certification in good standing in the state in which the employee works as required by the state
