The posted compensation range of $500,000 - $575,000 /annually is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Radiation Oncologist with CommonSpirit Mountain Region, you will join our dynamic healthcare team based in Westminster, CO, playing a pivotal role in diagnosing and treating cancer and other diseases using targeted ionizing radiation. This position offers an immediate opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of patients and families across our Colorado network.

Every day you will provide compassionate and expert care, conducting thorough assessments, designing and implementing precise radiation plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the holistic well-being of patients. You will be instrumental in growing our program within Southwestern Colorado.

To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled, board-certified/eligible, and compassionate Radiation Oncologist, possessing an excellent clinical foundation, a commitment to vigorous quality assurance, and strong communication abilities. You will also demonstrate a deep commitment to patient-centered care and the capacity to thrive within a collegial and supportive environment, dedicated to improving care in our community.

  • Design precise radiation treatment plans using state-of-the-art technology, including Varian Linac and HDR units, 4D CT sim, Aria/Eclipse, and advanced SRS/SBRT techniques.
  • Conduct initial patient consultations, effectively explain therapy options, monitor ongoing progress, and manage physical or emotional side effects throughout the treatment cycle.
  • Lead and direct a multidisciplinary clinical team, including medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and oncology nurses, ensuring the highest standards of treatment precision and patient safety.
  • Partner and collaborate with surgical and medical oncologists to seamlessly integrate radiation therapy into comprehensive, evidence-based cancer care plans.
  • Participate in routine peer review sessions with a cohesive group of 11 Radiation Oncologists across 7 centers in Colorado, fostering a collaborative and supportive clinical environment.
  • Monitor patients post-treatment to check for recurrence and evaluate the long-term success and efficacy of the radiation therapy.
  • Contribute to the growth and enhancement of CommonSpirit Mountain Region’s comprehensive cancer program, supported by leadership committed to physician and staff development.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology.
  • Active or eligible medical license in the state of Colorado.
  • Excellent clinical training and experience in Radiation Oncology.
  • Strong foundation in radiobiology, exceptional spatial reasoning (often involving complex 3D modeling), and deep computer literacy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and a diverse healthcare team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and enthusiasm to grow our program.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care, rigorous quality assurance, and improving care in our community.

Preferred

  • Experience with Varian Linac, HDR unit, 4D CT sim, Aria/Eclipse planning system, SRS/SBRT.
  • Experience in an integrated system with multidisciplinary support teams.
