The posted compensation range of $26.76 - $39.81 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. As our Certified Exercise Physiologist at CHI Williston Health, you will help patients recovering from cardiopulmonary events design and execute personalized exercise plans so they can regain their health, manage complex comorbidities, and achieve long-term cardiovascular wellness.
Every day you will manage the delivery of care within our Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation program. You will be expected to provide expert clinical oversight, monitor hemodynamic stability, and guide patients through their recovery journey with high-acuity precision.
To be successful in this role, you must possess advanced knowledge of exercise prescription for complex populations, a commitment to AACVPR/ACSM standards of care, and the clinical confidence to manage patient safety during high-acuity exercise sessions.
- Comprehensive Assessment & Planning: Screen patients for program eligibility, perform risk stratification, and develop individualized, high-acuity exercise prescriptions that align with AACVPR and departmental standards.
- Clinical Monitoring & Safety: Provide expert supervision during all phases of care, including the rigorous monitoring and evaluation of ECG, hemodynamics, and patient physiological responses to physical activity.
- Intervention & Tracking: Deliver evidence-based Phase I and Phase II rehabilitation care while tracking clinical outcomes to ensure every patient makes measurable progress toward their health goals.
- Expert Education & Consultation: Serve as a subject matter expert, providing targeted education to patients and clinical consultation for special populations (e.g., oncology, diabetes) to support secondary prevention.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain meticulous EMR and telemetry documentation, ensuring all care adheres to CMS regulations, professional scope of practice, and organizational quality standards.
- Collaborative Care: Participate in Multidisciplinary Rounds (MDR) and work groups, acting as a vital clinical partner in the patient’s comprehensive care team.
Job Requirements
Required
- Documented course-work and/or demonstrated experience in exercise prescription, anatomy/physiology and human movement.
- Masters Of Science Exercise Physiology or related and 1-3 years experience.
- 12 months relevant experience with secondary prevention\ populations or ≥120 hr. Internship in Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation.
- OR
- Bachelors Of Science Exercise Physiology or related and Experience with recognition and interpretation of 12 lead and exercise ECG.
- Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR), upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 Days.
- Certified Clin Exer Physio (ACSM-CEP) within 12 - months or Certified Personal Trainer/Exercise Speciast (CPT-ACSM) within 12 - months
