The posted compensation range of $38.98 - $52.96 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Occ Health-Infection Preventionist, you will develop, coordinate, implement and maintain an organizational infection prevention and control program that conforms to external regulatory requirements, and serves as an active member of the Safety Committee, demonstrating the comprehensive integration of infection prevention and control into the TQM program, and represents infection control on facility committees.


Every day you will promote organizational employee health and safety by facilitating an employee health program that promotes disease detection, prevention, and treatment; following up employee illnesses and injuries; conducting employee health screenings; and promoting a safe work environment.

To be successful in this role, you must: 

  • Perform urine drug collection, screening audiograms, and lab specimen collection.
  • Complete accurate health history and collaborate with other departments to complete necessary occupational health exams.
  • Participates in development, revision and implementation of the facility’s Infection Control Program including annual risk assessments, policies, standards, and procedures to ensure rigorous infection control standards that meet MDH, CDC, OSHA, etc. requirements.
  • Coordinate infection control activities of surveillance, collecting, compiling and analyzing data to identify infectious disease/outbreaks, initiate epidemiological investigations, and collaborate with the laboratory for required reporting and follow up of communicable diseases to state authorities on a timely basis
  • Identify and report health-care acquired infections and implements appropriate process improvements
  • Provide employee education related to infection prevention and control
  • Ensure proper application of infection prevention and control standards through employee orientation, ongoing education and process improvement activities
  • Promote an environment that supports patient/family participation in infection prevention (hand hygiene, isolation precautions, etc.)
  • Promote the use of infection control clinical guidelines/policies and serves as a resource for evidence based practice
  • Report required infection data to the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) on a monthly basis

Job Requirements

Required

  • Associate of Nursing
  • RN License in MN
  • One (1) -Three (3) years Infection Preventionist and Employee Health
  • Certified in Infection Control, within 24 - months


Preferred

  • Bachelors Of Nursing
