The posted compensation range of $27.97 - $41.60 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary / Purpose
Responsible for development and support of a comprehensive Emergency Preparedness Program based on the facility's licensure and in accordance to all regulatory/accreditation requirements. Will assist respective departments/units and staff in the execution of established plans and protocols in the event of a disaster and/or emergency situation. Incumbent will ensure materials and resources are readily available, functional, and current. Is responsible for providing support and education to team members, to include training and drills. Incumbent is responsible for coordinating and monitoring employee participation, on-the-job training, and related exercises. Incumbent will assist in the development and delivery of related initiatives (oral and written); and, will ensure the local Emergency Management Committee within assigned location(s) is aware and functional.
Essential Functions
- Serves as inventory control for Emergency Management equipment and supplies:
- by reviewing and identifying annual inventory requirements and associated costs in collaboration with the Program Managers/Director.
- Following leader approval(s), sends submissions to the Finance department for budgeting purposes.
- Utilizing the approved vendor list and systems as deemed appropriate when ordering supplies and inventory to support the program.
- by ordering non-standard department/unit specific materials not on the order guide.
- by researching new and ongoing supply services within scope; makes recommendations for potential new suppliers.
- by supporting Emergency Management educational initiatives and developed timelines, including materials, education, and training.
- by coordinating training based on established priorities and/or as directed.
- by actively working with facility leadership, clinical support staff, and end users to plan training events.
- by scheduling appropriate rooms and equipment needed for each training.
- Supports Emergency Management drills, tabletop exercises and functional exercises across the region:
- Performs the role of observer, controller and evaluator of the drills and exercises, as assigned.
- Provides constructive feedback to individuals and departments for performance improvement purposes during briefing and debriefing meetings, drills and exercises.
- Authors and comments on After Action Reports (AAR).
- Recommends improvements and assists in the development of recommended improvement plans.
- Maintains organizational readiness for Emergency Management:
- Maintains functional readiness of command center at all times including up to date resource materials, functional equipment, phone lists and data tools.
- Coordinates the maintenance of equipment and supplies for emergency management programs, including maintaining records, ensuring compliance with equipment testing and disposal of equipment/supplies.
- Promotes personal emergency preparedness:
- Supports the collection of data and reporting of current status.
- Represents the organization with internal and external stakeholders supporting community engagement.
- Identify and promote best practices and programs. Active member of committee(s) or collaborative teams as required by duties.
- Participates in development activities to support the individual unit/department. Collaborates with all levels within the organization.
